What Is Spiritual Direction?

Spiritual direction is a contemplative practice that offers space to slow down, speak honestly, and become more attentive to the movement of God or the Divine within your life.Through thoughtful conversation, silence, reflection, and deep listening, we notice what is stirring beneath the surface. I do not provide answers or tell you what to believe. I accompany you as you discern the invitations, questions, and sacred movements already present within your experiences.

WHAT SPIRITUAL DIRECTION IS NOT

Spiritual direction is not therapy, counseling, life coaching, crisis care, or religious instruction. It does not diagnose conditions, provide clinical treatment, prescribe solutions, or require you to follow a particular spiritual path.A spiritual director does not serve as an authority over your beliefs or decisions. Instead, this practice creates room for you to explore your experiences, questions, doubts, and relationship with the Divine with greater attention and freedom.

INDIVIDUAL SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

Individual spiritual direction offers a confidential, one-on-one space to explore your spiritual life, questions, transitions, relationships, sense of calling, or experiences of uncertainty and change.Sessions are held through Zoom and last approximately one hour. Your first conversation is complimentary, allowing us to meet, discuss what you are seeking, and determine whether this relationship feels like a good fit.Ongoing sessions are $100 each. We will determine the frequency together based on your needs and desired rhythm.

A SPACE FOR THE QUESTIONS YOU CARRY

You do not need to be in crisis or have your spiritual life figured out to begin. You may be navigating change, grief, uncertainty, burnout, questions of identity or calling, a shift in your beliefs, or a desire to feel more connected to God, the Divine, yourself, and the life you are living.Spiritual direction offers space to bring what feels unresolved, sacred, difficult, hopeful, or simply worth noticing.

MONTHLY GROUP SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

Group spiritual direction provides a contemplative space where participants listen for the movement of the Divine within their own lives while also witnessing the experiences of others. Each gathering includes opportunities for silence, personal sharing, deep listening, and reflection. Members are not expected to offer advice or solve one another’s concerns. The group practices being fully present with what each person chooses to share.Monthly Group Session
$25 per person, per gathering
Groups are held through Zoom. Space is limited to preserve trust, confidentiality, and meaningful participation.

Who is Welcome

Spiritual direction is available to people of all faith traditions, those who identify as spiritual but not religious, and those who are questioning, deconstructing, or uncertain about what they believe.LGBTQIA+ individuals are fully welcomed and affirmed. You will not be expected to defend your identity, adopt my beliefs, or follow a prescribed spiritual path.I especially welcome educators, caregivers, veterans, clergy, parents, helping professionals, and others who spend much of their lives caring for or serving others. Wherever you are in your spiritual journey, you are welcome to arrive as you are.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We will begin with a complimentary conversation to discuss what brings you to spiritual direction, answer your questions, and determine whether working together feels like a good fit.You do not need to prepare anything or arrive with a specific question. During each session, you will be invited to share what feels most present. Our time may include conversation, silence, reflection, prayer, imagery, journaling prompts, or other contemplative practices that support your process. You always decide what to share and which practices feel appropriate. Sessions are confidential, unhurried, and centered on attentive listening rather than advice or judgment.

ABOUT NAOMA

I am a spiritual director, educator, author, Navy veteran, mother, and lifelong seeker. In May 2026, I completed my spiritual direction formation through Deepwardly LLC,  where I was trained in an evocative-contemplative approach grounded in deep listening, thoughtful questions, silence, and attention to the sacred movements within a person’s life.My own spiritual life is rooted in the Christian tradition and has also been enriched by the contemplative wisdom and practices of other faith traditions. I believe the Divine is already present and active in every person’s life, even during seasons of doubt, disconnection, change, or uncertainty. My role is not to provide easy answers or tell you what to believe. I offer a compassionate and confidential space where you can breathe, speak honestly, listen deeply, and become more attentive to what is unfolding within you.
